I've had my 7-year-old nephew in tow for the past few weeks. He's learning kit drums and we've been playing super long versions of Day Tripper in ever-changing tempo. But it's the coolest thing to see the joy as he is learning to play and having fun. I could worry about scales and tempo but why? It's awesome. Anybody else been playing outside of structure just for fun? With a kid, SO, other?
