I saw (and played) one of these in the store the other day, and instantly fell in love with the playability, sound, and look. I really need to get me a fretless, and I just wanted to know if I should be afraid of Cort. Just was hoping y'all could tell me your experiences with their reliability and such so I can make the right decision. Thanks!!!!
Best low priced fretless on the market, IMHO, with the possible exception of the MTD Kingston, which I've never had the pleasure of playing in a fretless. When I was hunting for a fretless 5, the next one up from this was the Peavey Cirrus, and while it's a great value too(I own a Cirrus fretted 6) it cost twice as much. If I had $500 to spend and wanted a fretless, I would buy the Artisan. No worries with Cort, they make a lot of other brands basses too, like Ibanez, Groove Tools(Conklin's budget brand) and the low priced Curbow's. Unfortunately, I heard a rumor that the Artisan series is being discontinued, which means that a great low priced bass is going away.
