Hey, i was at a music shop here in town today, and i saw a Schecter Diamond series 5 string bass, i was wondering if anyone could tell me an average price range, and/or if this is a nice bass, i am looking at it closely because i really think this would be a nice bass. Tell me what you can.

    Thanks,

Not sure exactly what model you're talking about, but Schecters start at around $350 or so and go up from there. If you pay $25 or $50 more at a shop than online, it's well worth it (know what you get, try it out first). Yes, they're nice midrange basses. I wouldn't feel the least bit embarrassed playing one live.

A couple sites to compare prices:

They are decent basses for the price. If you are used to playing a 4 string, you might not like the string spacing. It is very tight. Too tight for me. I prefer 3/4" bridge spacing.
