Could be in Basses - Could be in Electronics

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by T. B. Player, May 7, 2006.

  1. For all those that have purchased the Brice/SX lines of inexpensive basses, yet have "electronics" problems, I can now recommend changing the pre-amp.

I played my first gig last night after swapping out the stock electronics in my Brice 6 string Prestige for a Bartolini 2 band I picked up from Da Drive First here on TalkBass -

All I can say is - WOW. First time I could dial in the tone right where I wanted it without crackling from dirty pots.

Don't bother with changing the pick ups at first - just do the electronics, and see what a difference it makes for you. The low price of the axes will save you enough $$$ to be able to do this (and have a pro do it if you don't feel comfortable with a soldering iron).

Can't wait for this afternoon's gig to do it again!!
