I'm finding myself really attracted to the looks and simplicity of the Ibanez ATK305. I've got an L2500 Tribute and I don't want to double up. Can I get sounds similar to an ATK305 with my L2500 Tribute?
Well the attack sounds a lot like a stingray and sort of P bass....ish? Quite a prosessed type of sound...but I'm sorry I can't comment on the L2500. I did spend some time on a L1505....very old school 4 string musicman sound I...think...I ..have to buy it!
So, a processed sort of sound, huh? I'll just have to try one. They've got an ATK305 at Bass Northwest near my house - it's just that it's a 40 minute drive each way through traffic. Ugh.
I have both the L2000 Tribute and the newer ATK700 and use them both quite a lot depending on mood etc. The fretwork on the ATK is superior and the sound a little less strident; that said, I can tweak the Tribute to sound a lot like a Stingray, a P-bass, or even a Spector. I like having them both, as they feel different and complement each other over the course of a longish gig.
Can a L2500 sound like an ATK?.stingray? Probably no, as the pickup is not in the sme position as those basses, including the L1505
