The headline for the thread pretty much says it all.

I don't want my Ampeg SVT 810 E to get all ratty playing out. I 've thought about a full case, but frankly these are heavy enough without the case.

So, Ampeg makes a padded cover that runs about $100.

Tuki has a padded cover for $130.

The Tuki product does appear heavier duty, is it worth the extra money?

Right now I wrap it in heavy furniture pads, and it is still unscathed. But they obscure the handles, so they are not all that conveinient.

www.lecover.com Does great work and very reasonable.
Larry is a great guy to deal with.
Take a look there before you decide.
Much better quality than the stock cover.

  3. I have the Ampeg covers for mine. Leaves all the handles accessible. Funny thing is , I gig with one of my really ratty cabs. It was pretty chewed up when I got it so I don't use the cover for it. Why take a chance of ruining a perfectly good cover?

I do use the cover on the head..... always. It's an '05 and still in mint condition. The matching mint condition cab stays in the house.

I have the previous generation genuine Ampeg covers. A mix of grey and black panels. Well made and robust, but too short to protect the bottom edge of the cab. So the flexible grill cloth is protected, but the tolex lip is left uncovered.

  5. I thought ratty cabs were cool!

I knew there was another popular company doing this, I couldn't remember the name Thank you.

I just looked at the Lecovers online, looks like a winner.

My son had Tuki covers made for both his GK 212 cabinets 5 years ago.

Although he only used them for touring for a short time, he plays about 100 gigs annually. The covers are still in great shape, with very little wear (he is in charge of his own gear.)
No rips or tears, no loose threads. Great quality.

Tuki was very easy to work with, and the covers are well padded and very high quality.

I have the newest gen Ampeg cover for my Heritage 810e, and it covers the whole thing. I would rather it have a zipper in it than having to slip the entire thing over the cab, but it does work well.

I have both. I like the Tuki more since it has heavier padding and a nice velcro strap for the bottom. The only advantage I see for the Ampeg cover is that it keeps the cups on top of the cab exposed, so you can easily put the head on the cab when the cover is on.

    +1 for LeCover!

Larry makes some top notch stuff.

    Great service too.

I had issues with a handle cutouts and he sent me a new cover.

    Done no questions asked.

  13. Could I pick your brain. Do you suppose the current cover could cover a late 70s 810 cab? (towelbar model)

Not sure if old towel bar cabs are same size or not.
