at the moment i'm throwing a band together to play at my friend's chairity event, which is in 6 weeks!

the band is made up of a lead guitar/vocals (female), bassist, and a drummer (keys can be added). playing for a crowd of teenagers.

    songs we're looking for:
    - easy to learn (in less then 6 weeks time with 3 or less practices)
    - up beat, get the crowd moving
    - can be sang by female vocals
    - rock or punk rock genre
    - no over-played songs or songs that everyone knows (drummer's really picky about that)
    - no bubble gum punk (blink 182, sum 41 etc) or "punk" (avril)

  2. try my hero or everlong my foo fighters. nirvana's got some fun tunes to play (drainyou, in bloom, etc.)
i dunno how they'll sound with no guiatrs, though.:meh:
  3. If your drummer is picking the songs...Fergetaboutit.
  4. Breadfan by Metallica (well it was a cover, dunno who it's by)

It's not "headbanging in your face" kind of a song, it's something you could play in front of your 5 year old sister and not get in trouble for it.

Hmm...Stone Cold Crazy (another Metallica cover thing) is a good one too.

Uh...Slayer's version of Gadda Da Vida (by Iron Butterfly) is a great song to cover..again this is something you could play at a school ground and get away with it.

    hope i helped ;)

    we have one guitar.

the drummer doesnt want to play any nirvana, she "doesnt want people to think the original is better"
  6. oh, i didn't see guatar/vocals; i just saw the vocals part.
so...the drummer wants to play a crappy song, so it will sound better when you guys do it?:meh:
  7. One guitar? Shoot...forget I said anything. :D
