Cover Suggestions??

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by metallicarules, Jun 4, 2002.

  1. My band is pretty new and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for some covers that are good for amateur bands. We would prefer to play rock songs and it is important that the drums be quite simple as our drummer is the least advanced of all of us. The guitar shouldn't be overly difficult but more than just two power chords, and I don't really care how hard the bass is...I'll manage. Any suggestions would be really appreciated as long as you don't say Gone Away or Anthem for the Year 2000 :shudders:. :)

AC/DC has some fun basic stuff.

Limp Bisquick or almost any "nu" band have easy songs.
  4. Thanks Jennifer, downloaded some AC/DC tunes and there are some pretty good ones that we could learn, of course we'll go a little heavier on the distortion :).
  5. you know what im waiting to hear.......
a heavy metal cover of the super mario theme

cover some video game themes and make them a bit heavy

also goin along with what heath_the_great said, i think it would be so cool to hear a rock version of the simpsons theme, and i was at a concert recently, and heard an awesome rock cover of a song from the tetris game for game boy.
  9. Welll that is a pretty good list...but what did I say about Gone Away by the Offspring???? I'm going to have to disregard that whole list now ;). Thanks.

I really like the idea of a hard rock version of video game songs and stuff like that, we were actually just talking about a heavy metal version of the sesame street theme song "CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO GETTTT, HOW TO GET TO SESAME STREEEEEEETTTTTT!!!!! YEAAHHHH!!!!!!".
  10. Just wanted to make you shudder by slipping that one in!
