Covering pole pieces on your pickups. Where to buy covers without holes? Can this affect tone?

    Hey all.

    Say I have a bass with typical exposed pole pieces. Now say I want to go with the all black covered pickup look for a while. Is there anyone who makes these? Whenever I search pickup covers, I find covers with holes for pole pieces.

    Lastly, is there anything to consider in terms on tonal changes if I do this?

    Metal covers will impact tone, plastic ones will not.

    Could you direct me to a place that sells plastic covers without holes.

    It doesn't work like that.
    Some pickups have removable covers, some don't.
    You have to search for covers that will fit your specific type and brand of pickups.

    I know this...but what I meant is that I don't see like any pickup covers without holes in them.

    I'd gladly try to mod a cover if it wasn't an exact fit.
