Ever eaten there? Its great. There are tons of them back east and in the southern states.

Unfortunately, the closest one to me is in Flagstaff AZ or something.

Anyone else have fond Cracker Barrel memories?

Not particularly. I mean, the food's okay, but I get better fried chicken at home for cheaper (of course, I come from a Southern family, so I guess that's to be expected).

But the peach cobbler. The best in the world.

I really don't find anything extraordinary in Cracker Barrel.

  5. What's so great about a barrell full of crackers

I guess it is just my west coastness and my inability to eat there often that makes me and my family love it so....

  7. i love it dearly, eat there ofter. the closest one to me is about 14 miles away :p

I have never, ever eaten dessert at a restaurant.

    Never had the urge to.

    Also: I don't like peaches.

    Die, bastage.

You wait. Once you are at USC... you will have to drive 8 hours to flagstaff.

AND THEY DONT EVEN ASK YOU IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR TEA SWEETENED! so its like, a pseudo-cracker barrel

Mind you, I'm not a huge iced tea fan, either; but I'll be damned if I have to choke it down unsweetened.

  11. meh,
they have good lemonade, and croutons (nice and chewy).
My mom spends hours in the store tho. Breakfast is better than IHOP, and thats about it. We've got one about 30 minutes away, so it's nothing special.

Ahhhhh, Bakersfield. I hated Bakersfield. Its like hell. IMHO, that is. :D

Used to live in Oxnard, there was some good joints to go to there, and in ventura.

There's one down the street from my parent's house. When I was still living there in high school and then now when I visit we occasionally order some takeout from there. Seems like they mess something up every time. Seriously, I don't think I've ever gotten takeout from there in which the order was 100% correct.

All this means to me is a strong cheddar cheese, which used to be advertised a lot on UK TV, but not for many years!!

...well, there was the one time we didn't have to wait 2 hours in their Gift Shop.
    ;)

Actually, I took my mom there a couple Thanksgivings ago(she likes the place, OK).
I'm outside in the rockers for hours...I'm watching people park in the handicap spaces, with their handicap tags/placards, & RUNNING into the restaurant. Literally, RUNNING to get their name on the list. LMAO.
    Pathetic.

    Mmmm, my favorite.

As far as the restaurant goes, its ok. Seems like the portions could be a bit bigger. The warm Granny Smith apples in cinnamon/sugar syrup are great, though.

If I were the overly sensitive type I might think "Cracker Barrel" was a racist name.

I mean c'on, a southern restaurant named CRACKER BARREL?

I don't like it, they do have some decent food, but the portions are small, and the selection is really limited. Seems to be geared more for senior citizens.
