  1. Yesterday I traded my Epiphone Les Paul bass in for a Crate BX-25 amp b/c I had traded in my previous Ibanez 10-watt to help get my Yamaha Bass and I needed and amp.Good choice?Yes or No and deliberate.

If you like to practice with it that's all that matters. Just don't expect to be able to gig with it.

Crates are OK. Don't abuse it and it will last a long time.

I've never been crazy about the tone but I own two I bought used dirt cheap, they do the job fine for practice.

That little Crate is a good value in a practice amp...gets much louder than expected. Don't expect to use it for gigs other than acoustic stuff or very light rock. It sounds a little boxy and it's heavy for its size, but it does quite well for itself.

I have a BX 15. I have had it four or five years. No problems. Sounds OK; it does what I need it to do. I have no complaints.
