I'm in a classic hard rock cover band and we want to add some newer songs. A younger guy at work swears Crazy Bitch has just killed every time he's seen it covered. I just can't imagine playing that out and not having the bar owner come over and unplug the P.A. At the very least not ever playing there again. To those of you that play this, what kind of reactions, good and bad, have you had?
I would imagine that any bar that has a TouchTunes jukebox has had that song played to death. I know mine has.
I played that songs at bars, weddings and special events.. nobody has ever complained..if anything, it was one of the more popular tunes people dance to...
Eh - you can always edit/censor the song to the radio friendly version. After a set at a local club, the bar owner put on the house music - and that was the second song to come on - uncensored. We'd never perform it, but no one in the room seemed to notice/care.
Where are you playing this? A nursing home? It's a bar, people cuss, they'll deal with it. Play it. It's a great song that gets people on the dance floor and singing along.
It's a little bit older now than back when it came out but it still goes over very well. Drunk females seem to love singing along with it.
Personally I'd probably be rolling my eyes if I had to play that song, but I bet a lot of bar goers would like it. I doubt a bar owner is going to mind as long as people are dancing and buying drinks.
Crazy Bitch is the Brown Eyed Girl of the 21st century. It's money in the bank man! So is Too Drunk To ****, as well as Kid Rock's So Hott. If you aren't playing them you really should give em a shot.
I hate it.. But the chicks dig it.. and the guys love girls who dig it.. So just play it. Chalk it up to giving the crowd what they want.
Yeah that song really is a crowd pleaser... it's funny to me that women like that song though.. kinda like their excuse to admit what they know about themselves?
yup - we play the tune as well. Our set list this weekend it's the closing tune. ( I had nothing to do with that ) it's the 21st Century Brown Eyed Girl / Mustang sally all rolled into one.
I don't love the song, but played a benefit and the next band played that song. It was a biker bar. They loved it. I did enjoy it. The bikers seemed to really like us too. I was worried because we play mostly edgy reggae.
Yep ...i agree with those who say its kills. The chicks love it the drunker the better and they sing it too the top of their lungs shakin all over If you cover it and do it well you will get a reaction and noticed fo' sure.
