That IS crazy.
What's crazy is the money he spent making it.
Yeah, but if it does what he wants, then it's worth it, right? Things are only worth what people are willing to pay anyways.
But, I do agree, I wouldn't spend that money on that kind of project.
it took a while before i said "where are the pickups?", and realized he used variax parts.
He's in a pretty "famous" touring band, and a first-call session musician in the UK too. So his instrument is pretty important to him. I guess that justifies having a nice one.
Call me tasteless, but I think thats pretty cool
I just thought about it... If he's well known in England (and I suppose he lives there), Sims Custom is not that far away.
that is pretty cool
I think this one is slightly more crazy http://www.raspage.com/pages/mainframe.html
i like it...it's even better than the standard variax shape
Ok, so the total invested is about 1900 GBp. Am I reading that correctly? If so that comes out to roughly $3600. Really not that out of line considering here a real Ibanez JEM can fetch over $2k, the Variax would run in the $500 range, the 24 LEDs (face and side) would run $820, and I wouldn't even want to try to guess on the finish.
I think it looks pretty cool, but it's a b&*%$ to keep clean.
