Just like the thread title says, post some pics of some basses you've seen with some crazy pickup combinations.

Yep, I think so...however, it's still any interesting topic.

  7. What type of wood was used for the pickguard with the H/P/Ric setup?? Anyone??

  8. the red p-bass isnt that uncomon. if you know and/or like billy sheehan. that is the pickup configuration he uses.

  9. Wait, on the Sheehan bass, I thought that huge white thing wasn't a pickup, but something to stiffen the basses neck anchoring point, for when he does neck bends to get that lower tone.

no that thing is a big sidewinder humbucker its the old gibson EB series type. (now called SG model, you can see it on their website or www.gibsonbass.com). Billys bass even has two output jacks one for each pickup

  11. Actually it asnt designed from the old gibson basses it is from his orgional p-bass that was a telecaster p-bass.mucj like pictured.

Not true either. Was a '71 Precision with a '68 Telecaster bass neck, and a Gibson EBO humbucker.

Oh boy! I like that one the least for some reason. If the middle pickup weren't a P split coil, it'd be bearable, but like this.... yuck!
