    hey all,

    anyone try one?

just totally curious about its massive punch, and yet hoping the littlest bro of the CA series can still land me in bass nirvana, and yet not quite be the accursed boat anchor of the more powerful brethren.

course, your lack of responses will keep my GAS in check. :)

I've got one. Yes it is heavy. yes it sounds great. I got it after reading all the great ratings of the CA9. While reading the manual yesterday, I noticed that the two amps have different formats. The CA4 is class AB, while the CA9 is class H. I think it is perfect for me. 1k watts for 2 bills used.

Jae, I just bought a used Crest LT1000 (which is only 30 lbs 1000 watts @ 8 ohms- 1300 @ 4) and it sounds very similar to the CA stuff IMHO.

They're not that different. The CA9 is basically class AB also, but it has modulated supply rails for higher efficiency, so it is designated class H.
