Sharon (Counterfeit) is a friend and band mate (not this band,) an incredible singer and keyboard player. Let me know what you think of the song and video.

    Language may not be SFW.

I personally don't care for the song nor the video. Appears that she can sing though.

The song was a lot of fun, and holy hell can she use her voice.

The video... I'm not really sure? I get the sense that it wants to be lighthearted and humorous but unsettling at the same time, and while those aren't mutually exclusive elements, I don't know that they really bring out the best in each other here. I feel like it started off a bit too troubling to get comfortable with the humor and flair of it all, which weakened the impact of both elements. I enjoy the avant-garde thoroughly, but this plays out in a way that almost seems like it's actively trying not to be understood. And succeeding.

It's clear everyone involved had fun making it, though, and Captain Pancakes is quite the actor (when properly wrangled, apparently). I think I could get into it with a little more context- It's a lot to ask a viewer to take in at once, but it's got me curious, and that counts for something.

Thanks @Chicory Blue. I feel as you do. I like the song but I think the video detracts rather than adds to it. Honestly, the song and video do not do justice to her live performances.

I bet she's incredible live. Got that glam jazzy-bluesy style like woah.

This lady has a voice. And my interpretation is certainly skewed by my Mayberry standards. I rather enjoyed the song and thought it was quite listenable... Well until the last verse. But then, I prefer Carol Burnett over Richard Pryor too. That's just me.... I am helping a young singer here locally. A young lady that gives me chills when she sings. But she likes to have a certain "image" that closes her doors to a wider audience. I get it. She gets it. She is young.... But I rather get the same sort of vibe here. That's a listenable, even marketable song. But that last verse (even though it is presented in a humorous way) closes off a sizable audience segment...... Just an old guys two cents.

My issue with the song is the mix makes some lyrics unclear. I don't think the song or the video showcases her obvious talent nearly enough. I don't care about the last verse, or find any offense with it; it's just not that strong of a song overall. I think she can definitely be somebody, and should continue making songs and vids.

I dig it. It is very much against TB rules. It doesn't bother me, but if the TB Helen Lovejoys find this, you might get a slap from the moderators.
