This is one of the basses that I considered part of the permanent collection, but I've ended up playing my fretless '78 Stingray all the time. This Curbow is the best playing, best sounding fretless I've had (and I've had some really good ones). It has a rockwood neck, Bart pickups and 3-band preamp. I'm not sure of the body woods - I'm going to call Curbow to see if they can with the specs. The body is a flat-top Petite with the thin upper edge. It has black hardware including Sperzel locking tuners. The bass weighs in right around 9.5 lbs. Includes the original Curbow hardshell case.

The price is $1480 which includes insured 2-day shipping.

Beautiful bass. Looks to be mint. Any minor issues?

This bass has no issues. I never really claim any basses are mint, but this one is in extremely good to excellent condition. I don't think there is a mark on it.

Well, it's definitely a mahogany back. At first I thought it might be a walnut top, but it might actually be rosewood. I remember Greg having some nice rosewood tops around the time he was making basses with the thin top like that.

Wow, that is a beauty! If I didn't have a fretless Skjold on order, I'd seriously consider picking that up as a mate for my fretted Petite 5. :)

    Bump for a great bass!
