Curious on what I'm looking for.

    Hey guys. I'm looking for something but I'm not sure what it's called. I know the sounds and a little of how to describe it. So here goes. I assume it's a preamp/modeling device. Clean, enriched, clear tone. No overdrive or fuzz. Maybe a little reverb. But very enriched. Something modern possibly. I hear it a lot on some solo tracks played with certain basses. I sometimes think the tracks are being spiced up. Anyways. I may be asking for something I can't have. I had an individual tell me he thinks I'm looking for the Aguilar tone hammer preamp. Thanks guys.

    There are alot of things that will give you a very rich tone IMO. I know you're talking about effects... but as far as amps go, an Ampeg SVT (or pretty much anything Ampeg) is as rich as it gets IMO. But, since we're strictly talking effects, maybe it's a chorus pedal you're looking for? Chorus pedals are always described as "rich" (some more than others, depending on the pedal).

    I'm not sure... maybe you could give a more accurate description of the sound you're looking for?

    Sounds like you want something with a high quality Presence control. The Tech21 Bass Driver DI makes everything sound better. You might look into that.
