So after being inspired by Greenboy's thread

I've decided to build a super simple 15" based cab designed for my Peavey VB2

As this is meant to be a single cab option for a tube amp and a p-bass with flats with lots of overdrive

I'm not really trying to get a bunch of high frquency from the cab.

And I'm really trying to keep the price point down

So as much as I'd dig working with a midrange - this design only uses the soon to be venerable Eminence Kappalite 3015.

    here are my calculations

    Custom 115

    using Kappalite 3015

    slot port size

    2 ports

    7.5 wide
    6.5 deep
    2.25 tall

(center slot chamber will be sealed)

Slot boot size (space behind slot port)- .125 (add to internal volume)

    external dimensions

    24.5" wide
    11.25" deep
    25.5" tall

    Internal dimensions
    23.5" wide
    9" deep
    21.75" tall

    Cut List (all 1/2" ply)

    Top and Bottom - 24.5 x 11.25
    Back - 24.5 x 23.5
    Sides - 24.5 x 11.25
    Baffle - 23.5 x 21.75

I moved the driver as close to the top of the cab as possible

    here's a quick 2d mock up using 1/2" ply

    20tqwc9.

keeping the depth really shallow - helped build up the height for projection.

    Tuning frequency is 49.42hertz
box volume in 2.73 cu ft (taking into account bracing)

I'm going to duplicate the girdle greenboy's girdle bracing and pillar bracing.

gonna use old school grill cloth to hide the funky driver placement.
