For Sale: Custom jazz bass I had built a couple years ago. Better than the Nash jazz, several Fender AV RIs, and a Roadworn jazz I've owned. Very, very lightly reliced finish. The neck and body woods were cherry picked by Tommy at USCGA and the bass was hand finished, painted, and built by a talented local guy. Price to sell at $700 shipped firm (less than half of what I paid new). No trades. PM if interested. Domestic (lower 48 state) shipping only. Non-fee based payment highly preferred.

    Specs:

    Neck: Ambered nitro finished maple.
    Dots: clay
Fretboard: Indian rosewood, 7'5"-10" compound radius (nice)
    Body: Alder
Finish: nitro Sonic blue over Olympic white just starting to slightly green
Electronics: NJ4s single coil pups, orange drop cap, high quality CTS pots
    Bridge: bent plate vintage style
    PG: Allparts mint
    Tuners: USA Hipshots
    Fret: thin vintage style
    Case: hard/soft case
    Weight: 9.3 lbs

Deal feel through. Still available and price drop.

Last night I set up the bass (to 6/64" E to 5/64" G action) and it plays fine with no rattle or buzz on any notes. I dropped by my tech at lunch today for a quick visual inspection and he concurs it looks good. If you play very heavy handed, require extra low action, and/or expect it to equal a Sadowsky or PLEKed Mike Lull, this is not the right bass for you. Myself (and the 5-6 local working bassists I've let use or check out the bass) consider it a very good playing, sounding, and looking 60s jazz.

    Beautiful Bass!

BTW, where is the truss rod nut? I don't see one
on either end of the neck.

At the heel end. If you remove the pickguard, there is a U route in the body so you can adjust the truss rod without removing the neck.
