Custom bass soundzzz

    Hello to all of the funky fresh low enders out there. I'm in the very early stages of conceiving a homemade bass. As far as sound goes I want serious thumpability but with definition, clear but not transparent, not something snappy or muddy. I don't know if I'm making any sense at all. I'm just looking for some suggestions as far as wood, pup, and pre-amp selection so as how to best achieve what I hope I'm getting across to you. And if I'm being too vague then let me know and I'll try to clear it up. Thanks to all who took the time to read :D:D:bassist::bassist::help::help::):):hyper:

    My bass is neck through, walnut body, walnut neck with maple stringers, and a pau fero fretboard. It's mellow enough, but still with some bite. For pickups, go with Nordstrand. Smoking pu's!!!

    or you can just bypass it all and have Wilser build you one! ;)

    Is there a particular production bass or one that you have heard that carries your characteristics? I would start there and tweak accordingly.
