Bob Mick's Custom 6 string bass is both a work of art and a great musical instrument. Bob has been making basses in Tucson, AZ for over 40 years. No website, not much of a salesman, but a hell of a luthier.

Here's a TB quote from Brian Bromberg who has used Bob Mick basses over the years:

    http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/bob-mick-guitars-939429/

Bob Mick basses are exceptionally well made and this one features:

*Mahogany body w/curly Imbuya and Purpleheart stringers
*Maple neck with Ebony Fingerboard-2.25 inches wide at nut
*34 inch scale, 22 frets, 16mm spacing, 9 volts active
*EMG 45P and 45J pickups, all black hardware, gotoh tuners
*Controls are volume, tone, pickup pan, bridge is Wilkinson
*Weight is 9 pounds 15 ounces on a baby scale
*Ships in a Rockbag or old hardshell case for protection only

I know there is very little out there on Bob Mick basses but I did come across this quote (abridged) credited to Ed Fried who I assume to be The Bass Whisperer. NOTE he was not talking about this particular bass.

"I have played Ken Smith's top of the line bass at over four thousand and several Foderas. The Bob Mick axe sounds better than both of them."

Flaws: There are several scuffs and a small scratch near the jack which I photographed. A hairline crack less than 1 cm. near the back of the A tuner and a thin crack which can be seen on the front of headstock in a photo. I am confident these flaws are strictly cosmetic.
Here are some more photos, if you would like anything more specific, please PM me with your email address.

This is more bass than I need or can justify having.

    Price is $1250 plus shipping.

There is a newone for sale at the Bass Place for comparison:

Feel free to make offers or trades but I prefer an outright sale and there is very little I need. Ideally I would trade down for a Cirrus BXP. I prefer 4 strings to 5 and like Bongos, El Toro's, Vintage G&L's, Fenders and Ricks but cannot add money.
