Is there anyone around town that will take dots out of a rosewood board, and replace them with abalone blocks?

Try Jim at Lonestar Guitar in South Houston. I've been using them for over 20 years for all of my work. They are honest and fair priced, IMO.
  3. Ron Pace did blocks on a friend of mine's Jazz bass. Might give him a call.

    Maybe Neil Sargent?

EDIT: +1 To Jim Fulton at Lonestar. He also works a bit a Rockin' Robin during the week.

    +1 on Lone Star

Jims prices are great, and his turn around time is excellent.

Jim says it would likely require removing the frets...its cheaper to buy a new neck...

Looking for the same thing. Lonestar is no longer around. It'll be another couple of months before I make it down to Rockin' Robin. Google is no help. I need some inlay work done!!
