custom NECK build

    I really want a new neck built for my ibanez. Yeah, I know, it's dumb, it's not worth the money, etc.

    But the bass plays great, the body is, well, a fine body. and I'm also replacing the bridge and tuners w/ hipshot.

    I already have dark stars in the bad boy... so if I can get a neck made to my specs, that intonates better and doesn't share the plethora of buzz and dead spots, that would be exquisite.

    any idea on builders that do this kind of work?

    That could get pricy. I doubt the neck has intonation issues. The slots on most basses are cut in one CNC operation that is really accurate. I consider talking to a good luthier about if it could be refretted. The fret board may also need planning too. Still much cheaper than a new custom neck. A good refret may solve most all of your issues. Check with local musicians to see what is available in your area. Here are a few good ones if you can't find anyone:
