ok i got a story to share with everyone. boy im tellin ya. customer service from my experience is horrible these days. i recently bought a new head and cab. swr bass 750 and triad. the triad wasnt loud at all so i took it back for an exchange for a goliath III. of course they didnt have one in stock so they had to order it. told me 3-5 days. than the next day they call and tell me 3 weeks! so i went up there to see what could be done. they didnt have anything to lend me. i really didnt want a loaner anyway. just another hassle... and they couldnt give me my money back because they didnt have enough! told me to come back tomorrow and they MIGHT have enough than. (whats that bs?! its my money!!!) so i today i drove an hour and a half to a guitar center and picked up a goliath III. quite an adventurous week. hope no one else has to go thru this just to get a nice cab.
you bet your britches!!! i might have to get a second one or at least 2x10s or a 15 to go with her. hard to tell with out a band goin... ill see how she really perfroms this friday at band practice. im sure she'll do just fine with my bass 750. after all that mayhem... i feel on top of the world!!! especially after seein a guitar center... its a toys r us gone guitar!!!!
Backorders *can* be an honest mistake. I work for a mail order/Internet retailer (not music related). Sometimes the information that sales people have is not the actual story. That's not to say it is excusable, but it is understandable. However, it is totally unethical to charge your credit card immediately for an item that is on backorder. Where I work, if it is on backorder we don't charge your card until the day it goes out the door. If we make a mistake and charge a card for a b/o, it gets credited immediately. That being said, don't put up with ANY baloney from retailers. The only language they understand is your cash. Vote with your dollars and do business with companies you feel are treating you in an honest and ethical manner. Usually, they won't have the rock bottom price, but the non-hassle is easily worth it. yeah ill take service over price any day. the guy at guitar center was super kewl. he was a young guy bout my age. (19 to be exact ) i even had to drive an hour and a half but it was worth it. i think im goin back out there this weekend cause they have some buster heads and combos on clearance.
