Customizing/Hot rodding your bass?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by The_Ryst, Jun 7, 2005.

  1. I saw something in a 4 string where it took all the knobs on a 4 string and made them those knobs on knobs (hard to explain) for even more tone control. Does anyone konw how to help me?
  2. Separate volumes for each string?

    Concentric volume/tone controls?

Are we talking 4 seperate volumes, a master volume- 4 tone, active tone circuitry...?

    How many pots/switches/etc?
  3. The J-Retro pre-amp replaces the stock pots in a Jazz bass with a preamp using stacked controls in the same space. That's probably what you saw. They are fabulous preamps. Do a search .

  6. Our guitarist actually took a bunch of small white square-shaped stickers and put them all over his black Hamer Explorer to create a "checker board" effect. It actually turned out looking real good...you can see pics at our website below.

    that chain looks extra comfy.
  12. Isn't that a Rick Nielsen trademark? As a matter of fact, I think he did it to one of his Explorers too.
