Czech Spector

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Chris J, Apr 24, 2001.

  1. How much does a Czech 5 string Spector cost? If you have one, tell us about it. Post a pic maybe.
  2. Chris,
If you don't care about the color or being a 4 string, you can get a sloid gloss back Czech Spector for only $699 through www.musiciansfriend.com. Bear in mind that these 4 strings normally sell new for $1350. These are selling so cheap because the solid gloss colors are being discontinued and only transparent finishes are available. You'd better get on it now bcause they won't last at this price and you'll NEVER see them this low again.
5 strings normally ell for $1500 but Musicians friend may have some fives still available for $999.
As far as pics go, I will get the pics of my Czech Spectors real soon. Nino has a pic of his solid gloss black Czech 5 string. I'm sure he'll post his pic anytime now!!!

New one's sell for about 1350 for a 4 string & 1500 for a 5 string. You can get a great deal on Musician's Friend on some discontinued models. The only difference between thes & the newer one is that the older have dot inlays compared to the crown inlays & the maple wasen't as figured as the newer ones (AA maple bodies on the newer ones.) I have 5 Spectors in total & one is a Czech. It is almost a good as the USA models. I don't think I will ever buy a USA model unles I want a 6 string w/a peizo. The Czech I bought from Musician's Friend from their scratch & dent sale (no major damage, just a few scratches) & I would buy another in a heartbeat if I saw it on the scratch & dent sale. I also work @ a Spector dealer & have an NS-4 CR in white on order for my self.

  4. Nino,
He wants to see a pic. Please post the pick of your black 5 string!!! I told Chris ya would!
  5. lol

Do you two just hover waiting for Spector threads?

All joking aside, I really wish I had the cash for a Czech Spector. I think I'm looking into getting a custom built by Dave Pushic first. Maybe I'll get a Czech down the line. It doesn't look like MF has that excellent deal on the solid black CR 5's anymore.

If you ever have Spector questions, Mr. Dead and Nino will be right there.....and Nino will bring pictures. He's almost as eager to show of his basses as JT is. :) I can see why!
  6. Thanks guys. That was really helpful.
