    Hey all,
I was killing sometime last night and stopped in at guitar center. TO my surprise they now carry spectors. Ive played the Q series before and didnt like em that much, but they did have the rebops and a Czech spector there. THe rebop was pretty good, but man i love the czech. felt great and great tone. The neck was much nicer and more comfortable then my warwick. Anyone know where u can get good deals on these babies, new or used?

The ReBop is Czech made as well as the NS-CR seties.

I've found a few good deals on eBay, if you don't mind pre-owned.

I just purchased a Spector ReBop 5 natural oil, freakin awesome bass! It's a Euopean alder hand carved body made in the Czech Republic, the neck is rosewood,EMG active pick ups. Anyway it's all there, tone is great good lows and highs. The neck is very comfy to play. It's a light and balanced bass. Very versitle to say the least. I highly recommend this bass to anyone 4 or 5 string. I would recommend the entry level proformance Spector as well let alone a Czech, I think when I get an extra $300.00 I am going to pick one up, checkout thier website www.spectorbass.com, mine is the Natural Oil, natural wood body with varished neck...sweet, but anyway I'd do it if I were you.

I love my Czech to daeth.. emerald stain 5. I modified the electronics and tuning too. www.riksmusic.com is blowing out Czech spectors and has 5's for $1099 new, and 4's for $999 I believe. Its a great deal, but there is limited color selection. Ebay is also a great place to get good deals on these.

  12. I love my 6, plays nice and off a decent amp you can get some really nice tone from it.

What did you not like about the Q? I have two Professional Series 5 string basses, both neck through and Q...and it sounds pretty good! I mean, I'm upgrading them both slowly, cuz I've been spoiled by playing high end basses at my store, but they're great as they are!

I didn't do a whole lot- Mine came with the aguilar OBP-1 preamp, which combined with the active EMG's put out a VERY hot signal, despite being only 9v. To control the tone a little easier I change the pots a little. Instead of all 25k pots with volume/volume/bass/treble I changed it to volume/50k balance/bass/treble. I think its a little easier to work with and control my tone this way.

  16. Yea It is a strong signal. My Spector Doesnt have 2 Volume knobs. Well one acts more of a bland knob while the other is a full on volume. Cant blend unless the main volume is up. Is that normal? 5stringEurogreen

I bought a brand new Czech Spector NS-5CRFM, I assume it is a 2003 model. I was wondering if it is worth it to change to preamp. Will I get much of a difference? I have heard that the Aguilar preamps are better.
