Can you get a resonably close music man tone out of this bass? I am considering the switch, but would like to be able to get close to the same tone I am getting now with my ray 5. Thanks in advance!

  2. I've only ever played a 4 string spector, but if you want something to complement your 4 string ray, why not a 5 string ray?

I know the Ray 5 is more like a Sterling, but IME, both the Ray and the Sterling can get the same tones. The Sterling is a little more versatile IMO, so a Ray 5 would be a good choice.

I've got the ray 5, and am thinking about parting with it to afford the spector. I'd just like to know if I could get "close" to the same tone....

I've owned Spector 5's & SR5's & I felt thet each had it's own distinct sound. Especially the Ray.
