D, Dm

    on guitar(real chords not power chords) whats the difference between a D and a Dm.

    what do you do with your fingers to make it different?

    When you play D, you play the F#, but when you play Dm, you play F.
    You usually play the F# or F on the E string, F# is on the second fret but F is on the first.
