    Talkin'bout this one!

As you can see in the pic there, (I'm the one with the hat,) I had a couple of visitors last week. And let me tell you; Darrin Huff makes the best-playing bass
you can possibly imagine! Stats-wise, that bass is a 32" 24 fretter 4
string, loaded with Nordstrands and the Aggie 2-band. And the damn
thing shreads. The sound was warm and growly, but INCREDIBLY well
define'd all the way up and down the board. Plus, the thing plays
like friggin'butter. Suuuuuper comfortable to play, even going from a
35". The action was set up nice and low, but it was still exceptional
to slap on, as well as tap and play fingerstyle. You'd have to ask
Andrew aboot using a pick, though... Damn'd Andrew...
Attention to detail was second to none. There was nothing aboot the
construction that I would complain aboot in the slightest, even
before taking into consideration the fact that the bass was D's
personal twanger, that he used to prototype some things.

Believe me. D's basses are well worth the wait, for any of you guys
who are oot there waiting. I actually fell asleep in the airport
playing it while we were waiting for Andrew's plane, I was so loath
to let it go. And some day, when I have my own, I won't ever let it
go. Even Santa would have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

  4. Get this:

One of my best friends, Dave, is good friends with Terry Huff (Darrin's Dad). I just found this out recently.

Hmmm..... small world here in Spokane. Hey Darrin - if you're out there, I'm in a local band "Big Bang" and I've met your Dad through Dave Q.

I'm on the list too, trying not to get impatient. You're not helping. :D :D :D Seriously, I know it'll be ready when it's ready. And I'm confident it'll be as good as I think it will.

Funny tangent - when I click on the link and go to the group site, the automated, normally content-related, banner ad at the bottom has links to nanotechnology companies! Is Darrin doing something we don't know about? :)

    um, ok, whatever

...back to original topic, this is a seriously beautiful bass. I saw it the night before D shipped it out, and it's a work of art. Didn't get to plug it in, but I have no doubt it sounds as good as it looks. Two thumbs way up!
