D'addario 170's high tension?

    I've used these before but...I swapped the stock strings on my Squier project bass for 170's. There was some truss rod rattle and I notice the relief is more pronounced. Are these high tension strings?

    If you're noticing a difference in relief, then yes, the strings are a higher tension than what was on there previously.

    The truss rod rattle concerns me. Did it rattle with the old strings on?

    No, no rattle at all. After settling in I don't hear it for some reason.

    They are about middle of the road as far as tension goes.
