I've been playing the same set of Chromes for about a year now. They sound great, but just alittle too muddy on my Pbass. I'm interested in D'Addario's halfwound strings. What do you guys think about them? :meh:

I've got a set on my fretless 6 for a little while now... I dig them. closer to rounds in tone IMO. little thump, nice warmth. I'm flirting with the idea of going back to stainless rounds (Prosteels)... but not because I don't dig the Half Rounds.

I played Half-rounds on both my fretted and fretless basses for about a year and swore by them but my taste in tone changed. They give great thump but are still warm and pretty clear. I'd try them out again on my newer basses, btu I'm so used my DR's....

I'm going with D'Addario Halfwounds on my custom fretless 5. I hope I dig 'em. :)
