I just got my new Fender P-Bass! It sounds sweet and it's not even properly set up yet. Here's pics; I call her Mary.

    Thanks!

I originally wanted the Cobalt Blue, but no one had pictures of it. Also, I was worried about how the Sage Green would look in real life. Midnight Wine seemed like a safe bet and it looks pretty cool in person.

My wife thinks I'm nuts. I got the roll of the eyes, along with a "what's so great about this one and why do you need another bass?" That's OK, she puts up with me and that's good enough!

My wife says the same thing. I plug in a new one and she says "it sounds just like the other one":rollno:

I love her anyway. It's not her fault she has a bad sense of tone.

Congrats on the P-Bass. Midnight Wine is a cool color. I really like them with Peraloid pickguards.

    It's not a women thing that she doesn't understand this; it's a non-musician thing.

I was thinking of eventually getting a bridge cover. I've seen some bass players with them on their basses and they look really cool. Something to think about. I am reluctant to drill holes in the body.

I just added that a the pickup cover to my 97 p. It looks great and since I stick foam there it's an important part of my sound.

I heard about people doing that. Does it really give you that upright sound?

I was also hesitant to drill holes in my bass. I have to say, though, it was well worth it!

Somewhat, if combined with heavy gauge flats like Labella Jamersons or Fender 9050m. Check out some James Jamerson (motown bassist if you didn't know). He had Labella Jamersons (the classic version of Deep Talkin Flats), and a 62 pbass with foam under the bridge (they used to come that way).

I believed that, even before I owned P-Bass.

Very pretty. I like that Midnight Wine.

    Thanks.

I thought it was OK when I got it; but it was more of an elimination. The light blue and sage were iffy for me and I already have two black basses. There are supposedly two other shades of blue, but those ones did not have pics yet. It's really starting to grow on me and I think I am really happy with the color. Plus, I've been getting a lot of good feedback from other Fender-ites.
