This is a 1982 Daion Power Mark XX-B, made in Japan. Maple body, ash top and back. Bound ebony fingerboard with brass dot inlays. 9-piece maple and rosewood neck with an asymmetrical profile and 35" scale, which are unusual features for a bass this old. Passive PJ pickups-P pickup has been upgraded to a Lundgren; J pickup is stock. VV/TT control layout. Comes with the beat OHSC. This bass has not led an easy life-there are numerous dings and scratches in the body, which I'll try to photograph in more detail. There are a couple dings in the back of the neck as well. This was refretted at some point, and there are a few areas above the 12th fret where the wood chipped slightly around the frets. The worst damage is a crack in the back laminate that starts at one of the control cavity screws. It's 100% stable, and it just looks bad, unfortunately. This is an exceptionally rare and high-quality bass from the golden era of vintage Japanese guitars, and it plays and sounds fantastically. It's not in collector condition, but you won't want to leave it at home. Act fast-you won't see one of these again soon. $800 shipped in the continental US. Paypal or USPS money order accepted.
