The Guitar Center on the Tollway in N Dallas is moving, and they are blowing out everything that doesn't have a case.

Here are some of the insane deals that I saw yesterday.

Silver sparkle USA Jazz - $499
GC Anniversary Thumb bolt on - $499
    USA Fat Strats - $499
    Yamaha Attitude X 10th Anniversary model - $499
Silver Sparkle USA Teles and Strats - $499

There were a lot of other deals too, but those were the best ones.

They also had one Hamer 12 string bass left for $299, but it looked as if it may have neck problems.

  2. WOW! It's almost worth buying a ticket from Cali to Dallas just to stock up on some of that stuff!

If I had some money, I would be tempted to buy up the Fat Strats and Ebay them. I know that I could get at least $700 for them, with tags and all.

Emb---You got a phone number for them? It would be worth the long distance bill to see what they have!

Probably wouldn't be a good idea to put it in the Forum.

I just sent you a PM with it.;)

WOW! I bet all of the GCs will do that pricing.
At GC Mayfield, OH we have a silver sparkle J bass and it's okay, but the color is so evil... and the truss rod adjusts below the pickguard.

BUT!!! Ebay prediction: whenever there are Fender changes that effect the big chains (discontinued colors or configs), people either get them at the stores or buy a few on ebay and don't want the rest of them.

My dude picked up a US P dlx passive, sunset orange, for $500. I thought it would fetch $700 easy since it was $1100 new, but he had to get rid of it cheap because there was a flood in the market.

Buyer beware... and GC doesn't care if you post numbers on talkbass. If they wanna sell something, they'll sell it to anyone, anywhere... except GC employess... the corporate bastards.

No, it doesn't include the case.

Bassr64, it is going to be on the opposite side of the Tollway, I think they said off of Alpha and
    McEwen.

Well, I called today to order one of the Yamahas, and the number Jeff gave me was "disconnected" and then "unavailable". Hmmm.

  17. I called today (got the # off the 'net), and all they had left were the Fenders.

A $500 Warwick Thumb? I would have made that purchase in a second, but I guess there were a lot of people with the same idea!

    Just a side note:

Sometimes GCs will do a promo called "100 guitars for $100." What they do is find some older, discontinued, scratched, used or blowout guitars and basses and each one is $100. Now there may be a lot of crap, but in these sales are some gems... like PRS, Warwick, Fender, Gibson, etc. Keep your eyes peeled. It happens.

Usually, it's a one day thing and they go quick.
