I caught Bassist Dan Lakin(yes that Dan)live and in concert last night in Evanston Il.with his Band called MLC(Mid Life Crisis).Dan is not at all a slouch when it comes to playing Bass it was very kool seeing Dan up there laying it down.He really is about the pocket, tight as if he plays every night(I am not at all exaggerating)his sound had the just right presence that was needed and it was calmly warm(not the muddy warm)and his feel was very articulate.Dan really held things together.some of the songs they covered were

    Spinning Wheel
    Superstition(Stevie Wonder)
    All the Day (Kinks)
    Margarita (Jimmy Buffet)
and a Beatles song(the name escapes me)

and Dan even sang lead on a few songs as well.
The crowd were really into the Band(they were focused and paying attention to the band)and they were dancing and singing along to all the songs.
I really dug Dans playing and you can really tell that Dan sincerely payed attention to Duck Dunn,James Jamerson and J.Osborn just to name a few.and enjoying himself(he said they had two more sets to go before they call it a night)his playing really is in the heart and soul of the song and Last night that is what I got.Dan you did better than good to me and my ears you did great.

Very cool. I'm sure that bass sounded great, too. I played one at an NYC TB GTG and I was amazed how great it sounded.

Cord not looped through his strap???????????
Yikes. I'm so clumsy, I'd pull my cord out about once per song.
