Danelectro Octave Distortion?

    They have bunch of new pedals out, one of em being "French Toast" the octave distortion pedal. Now, question is, does it(or any other octave/dist pedal) go octave up instead of usual(?) octave down? This would be ofcourse to get better distortion on bass since I have understood distorted low end goes to blurt. Or perhaps I should go for their Black Coffee distortion pedal?

    It says on their page that the French Toast is 're-issue of Foxx Tone Machine. Best "octave up" effects pedal on the market', if this helps you.
