I've owned the B3K, B7k, and I've had the Vintage Ultra v1 on my board for three years now. I wanted to try this version of the Vintage series after hearing the Era control is known to sound a little different from the Vintage Ultra.

I'll say this - it definitely can sound like the Vintage Ultra, but there are tones I could not copy even with all the eq options on the VU. The tone of the VMT distortion itself is a little less fizzy too and more gravelly to my ears, a little more natural. I also find that I like the blend on the VMT a lot more than the VU.

If I wasn't trying to scrape together the funds for something else I'd absolutely be keeping it.
