Hi all, Has anyone done any analysis on what mid frequencies are affected by the vmt? There's definitely some mid-hump, and the era knob seems to have more of an affect on its counter-clockwise swing. I'm just curious. Thanks!
I've not done an analysis, but I can tell you what my ears tell me in terms of EQ. The more drive, the less top end comes through. The more counterclockwise the era knob, the more the mid-bump shifts to the lower mids. The more clockwise the era knob, the more the mid-bump shifts to the upper mids. I used to find the interactions complicated, but after having spent some time with the pedal, I find it really simple to dial in what I'm looking for. For reference, I typically live with it around 3 o'clock on the era knob and the drive around 1-2 o'clock. The blend typically stays around 1 o'clock, and the level is just above unity.
Even though the vmt does have a mid-range presence, I would say that it has a smooth overdrive sound. This pedal a real keeper.
