    Hi all,

I'm looking at a darryl jones lakland 4 string to possibly purchase online. I know that the original series came with Aero pickups. How can i tell if they are the Aero's?

Can i determine it by the serial #? Build date? or do you actually need to take the pickup out to tell?

    Thanks!

  2. THe serial number can give you the year of manufacture and that should tell you a bit unless it's around the transition time. But there are clear Aero and non-Aero years.

Thanks, Does anyone know the years the DJ had them? or the approximate date they stopped using them?

    Thanks!

  4. Mid-way through 2007 is when they started the switchover. So anything 2006 or before will be an Aero and anything 2008 after will be Lakland brand. If it's a 2007 then it could be a toss up and you would need another way to identify.
