Zoom Q&A Clip
I was nice to hear his voice and opinion.
yeah, really a neat cat --- and it's easy for me to agree with his POV. good stuff, doc!
Can you post it in a way for us non-FB people to be able to see it, thanks?
I will see what I can do.
Here is another recent Daryl Jones interview.
I first learned about Darryl from this album>
Learned the whole album, too, back in the century.
That wasn't my first exposure to him, but it remains one of my favorite recordings of his. Darryl and Omar are such an inspiring rhythm section!
There's a lick Darryl plays in the opening track where he superimposes a B pentatonic line over a Bb minor groove that I still cop to this day.
Thank you for posting this Dr. I enjoyed listening to his discussion. I was fortunate to attend the Rolling Stones concert in Seattle August before last and was blown away by his playing. Anyway, greatly appreciated this video. Thanks again
What a thoughtful, articulate musician. Loved it.
IIRC, my first DJ album was Decoy by Miles Davis. My 1st cd player, a mid-80s Sony, had a special offer for $5 cds. Decoy was one of the few I picked up.
Branford Marsalis, Scofield, Al Foster are also in the band.
