Daryl Jones prototype on CL????

    That's just the A Bass that he made. Called the Jade if I recall.
    The guy is calling it a proto-type just to boost it's importance IMO.
    Still a great price though!!

    Saw that this morning, too -- we're both up early. Good deal if it's legit, IMO.

    Albey is the real deal

    He really is into quality and His stuff is very good (probably the grumpiest beatneck/hippy out there) but a good builder none the less.

    I noticed it had the same body shape as the Lakland model.... thought that was pretty cool.... good price too..

    Yeah, I wouldn't call it a "prototype"--more like a "forerunner". Daryl had been using a couple of the A-basses, then Lakland used the same shape (licensed from Albey) when they decided to do a DJ Signature model.
