Anyone know where to find out when a Univox High Flier was made?
Try this site maybe there's some info that can help you in your search.
You might try taking her to dinner and a movie.
As you might guess from the body and the headstock, the Hi-Flier was a copy of a Mosrite.
The Univox copy started showing up at the end of the 60's. It had a plastic logo until about `73, then changed to a decal logo.
Some say the body was plywood and others say it was poplar. Kurt Cobain called them "plywood beasts."
(embellisher said "...dinner and a movie...". Would that be before plucking?)
lol....yes it would be.
they have one of those down the street. very cool bass. how much do they run?
I've had this one for 20 years or so. Should sell for $90-$200.(poor/primo)
Actually, I'd prefer taking her out for drinks and dancing.
Damnit! I said uniVOX, not uniFOX!
Nice thread........... very funny guys
You should consider make a TV series, something like Seindfel:
:Seindfel voice ON:
"Bass guitars... what about them??
Why couldn´t we date a bass guitar???"
:Seindfel voice OFF:
It would bring more from somebody who owned one back in the day, trying to recapture some of the lost magic of their youth.
That looks like a 70's model because the logo is a decal. The late 60's models have a nailed on, plastic logo.
So far, I've figured it was made between'73 and '78.
Well I guess you could take it out to a nice restaurant. Then maybe go to a bar, get is drunk, and bring it back to your place for...
