So I finally resolved my amp issue with my parents, and picked up an SVT-CL from Guitar Center, courtesy of the labor day sale. Before I bought it though, the sales rep told me that it was the last US-made SVT-CL in the entire Guitar Center chain. Is it possible to verify this?

    Dating your SVT-CL?

I LOVE my Ampeg, but isn't that taking it a little too far?:eyebrow:

Just got it, and it is indeed a USA SVT, but the fifth digit is an '8', not a letter as seen in that link. I'd just want to know what year it was made.

Since your signature line says "no cabinet yet" make sure you don't fire up the SVT-CL just to see the tubes glow...tube amps without a speaker load are not a good combination to the longivity of your expensive tube amp.

I've never dated an amp, but I did blow a speaker once.

I was young and drunk at the time

Yeah that's what I had been told. I'm currently running it into the 4ohm cab portion of my Trace Elliot combo. It handles 250 watts I believe, so I'm keeping the master down.

I'm just curious as to what '8' means for what year it was made.
