Dating Co-workers....?

I did, nine years later we still together, in the meantime we have added two kids to the relationship. Did I told you that she have given me : Lakland DJ, stingray, Fender, as birthday presents :hyper:

The fact is that you never know where you going to meet '' that woman'' so dont let a chance pass by.

Unfortunately not a lot of my female coworkers are that attractive, let alone social. I dated one and after the very awkward date we decided not to do it again. (I don't know why science chicks can't hold conversations...)

Good for YOU! So it obviously CAN work but usually doesn't. The question you have to answer for yourself is, is this girl worth the risk? Are you willing to go find another job if you get caught and told to stop dating or leave? Or is this just a fling that you could do without? I would tell you that if I had met MY wife at the work place, there would have been no question about it. I would have been willing to leave my job for her in a split second. But I also messed up a good job by S#!tting where I eat. That girl was fun for a while, but I never even thought of enything really serious with her.

Is this a permanent job situation, where you'd like to stay for a significantly long period of time? No.

Is this a temporary job, or somewhere where you think you'll be gone in a year or so anyway? Go for it.

I dated a coworker, and for the first few months I loved it. Working at a job is much funner when you're hanging out with your best gal pal all day. The day things went sour work then became a complete hell and a total chore. I quit a few days later...but I was planning on quitting anyway, she just sped up the process.

Oh yeah there is always a risk, and depends on your needs and goals, will be different if you are 18, single and working at best buy , than if you are 45 and doing what you always dreamed. Same happened to me, I had to leave a job because a girl, actually I missed some good jobs when I was 20 because drinking during working hours, now that I am 37, married , two kids, a mortgage , asked me if I will mess around with another woman or even have a beer in the lunch , hell not.
Just evaluated the risk and if you are willing to take it or not and make a decision, you will always learn something from any decision you made.

Bottom line: you live to work. A relationship, even the chance of a really good one, must not take precedence over your job. You and the object of your longing will never be mature enough to handle it. Put it out of your mind now and kiss your pay stub.

I think this is the best advice here... if it's a career, noooooooo! But if it's just a crap job or temporary thing, sure. Fortunately I have not learned the career lesson myself. My best friend did and it resulted in sexual harassment accusations if he even glanced at her. Don't do it!

If you do, make sure you are in different divisions (engineering vs. accounting, etc.), with different supervisors. If you (or she) end up getting promoted, you could end up being her supervisor (or she being yours). What would you do if you HAD to lay her off (yuk yuk, insert adult joke here...)? Would you be able to tell your lady that she is no longer employed there?

I hooked up with a co-worker like two weeks ago, and I'm kind of worried about how it'll end up. Started out with the traditional paycheck-party, where we made out. A couple of days later, I got a text asking me if I was out drinking (which I was), I said yes, and she came an hour later. I got pretty drunk, and we ended up sleeping together at my place (which is like 50 meters away from the bar). I haven't met her at work yet, seing as she went on vacation the following day, and I left for the US a week later, to be away for a month on holiday, but I reckon things'll get awkward. It's just a part-time job to make some extra cash while studying, though, so I won't meet her THAT often (7-8 days a month). Fortunately.

Now, I know this gal has got some kind of thing for me. That can be a problem.
