I think it's gonna be great. I loved the last one with James Franco. When Caesar grabbed Draco Malfoy's arm and yelled "No!!!", it blew my mind. I hope the next several movies live up to the first one.
  2. Hey - that does look pretty good.

I still enjoy seeing the original with Charlton Heston from time to time.
  3. When I was watching that scene someone in the cinema suddenly screamed "SCARED, POTTER!?".

I think I missed the rest of the movie laughing.

Bill Burr's the best. I'm gonna derail my own thread. I've never seen anyone make Conan laugh as hard as Bill:

fyi,.. there are already "Ceasar-like" creatures presently thriving in the forests of N.America. i am very thankful they are a passive bunch (or i might be dead)! :)
  8. I'm completely against these new movies and their revisionist ape history. Everybody knows that Cornelius and Dr Zira got in Charlton Heston's spaceship, went back in time, had a baby, gave it to Ricardo Montalbán to raised in the circus and he grew up to lead the ape revolt. AND THAT'S IT. There's NO other ape history. There was NO man made virus that killed off humans. The apes WERE'T a bunch of wussy hippy pacifists living in Muir Woods. They f'ed sh*t up. Don't take that away from them. It's not fair to the monkeys and it's not fair to me.

Linda Harrison as Nova in the original...
She made me a believer in the female form at 6 years old!

Nothing has touched the original movie so far.

The original sequels, while fun in some ways, are not great movies--full of plot holes that I find distracting--although Escape was a lot of fun.

The Tim Burton remake/reboot/whatever was dreadful
    Plodding story, boring characters, etc.
But at east it had a Charlton Heston cameo

Rise was actually pretty good & entertaining, so I'll give Dawn a chance and see how it goes.

I agree the Burton iteration was sickening.

The "Rise" was good but I wanted the space monkey premise to prevail and sadly, no. Still, the premise of Alzheimer's cure worked and would have been ok if there had never been an original. It was a good story overall.

I hope in "dawn" them monkeys tear us humans to bits. But Caesar will probably just release a virus. Maybe we'll launch a spaceship just before they do?
