I picked up a used, good-condition db750 for a good price about a month ago. It sounds great, but I'm hearing a little faint internal rattling sound (yes I stack it on top of my cabs). When I very gently tilted the head side to side, I could hear it too. I haven't opened it up yet, and I think I'll take it to my local repair guy for that, but any ideas what the problem could be? What should I be looking for, a loose wire? A loose preamp tube?

You are probably hearing the ferrite beads in the amp. They have a little play, and you can hear a faint rattle in some conditions. This is normal. Feel free to contact us if you would like more info.

Hi Dave, Thanks for the quick answer. I think I'll leave her alone then. She's a beauty of an amp! My basses have never sounded so good before. Matt

    Listen to Mr B.

I had two loose screws in my used 750 when it arrived, and was able to get them back into place without fuss. Those ferrite beads mentioned had a 'tinkling' sound to me, but I only heard them with the top cover off. If it sounds like something is rolling around in there, you might want to open it up, if you're comfortable.

BTW Dave B., I now have the amp that I'm never going to sell. Thanks!
