I was playing through my amp and I found that when I dig in it would start to crackle note to note so I figure I would replace my preamp tube for the input gain section (v1) plugged my amp back in and sound wise I dug it but really digging in the amp started to crackle again from note to note would this be another tube to change (maybe v4?) or a sign of something else may be an issue this "crackle only happens when I really dig in. here is the set up aguilar db750 settings gain 12:00 eq - high, mid, low set flat to test master 12:00 for a sec I thought maybe the cab (HT322) was farting out... nope when borrowing a SVT CL driving the amp pretty hard the cab held up like a champ so it's not the cab. no effects being used in all this just active basses straight into the db750 (stingray and nordy vj4) any ideas or just own up I have no clue and take in for repair?
Instrument batteries OK? Then try this: playing at a moderate volume, pick a corner of the amp up a little, like a half-inch, and drop it. Just do it. Crackle? Yes? Probably a bad solder joint somewhere inside. Usually tough to find unfortunately.
batteries are new on both basses, I'll try the amp goggle tomorrow. When testing the amp after the tube swap of v1 I noticed it mainly happened when digging in on a low A... I figured/hoped it just needs new tubes I've had this amp for 3+ years and this is the first sign of any issue
