This is the time of the year that the band, all employees of an engineering company(except me), plays for their annual Xmas party at the Westwood Country Club. It was 21 degrees outside and golfers were playing with gloves and face masks.

We were using a digital controller mixer with two mains and two monitors.

I am using my new Hartke TX600 head with one Hartke Hydrive 1x12 which was also plugged into the DI. It was able to keep pace with the drummer and the rest of the band. I'm always amazed what just one 12in speaker can do.

It was small room for our band and it was loud.

    Not a good picture.

Wow, that is a small room! Did you get complaints? My rockabilly band played a fundraiser for my wife's library, bigger room than that and we did everything we could to keep volume minimal, and still got complaints. And yet people loved it too.

Yes we get complaints because we all tend to play over the drummer... Fact is the audience are all employees and have to attend, plus the CEO is in the band. Talk about a having captive audience ;)

    Hi Mr. dbase!

You came. You played. You ate. You conquered. Pretty nice gig. Your new Hartke rig looks great. It's kind of cool that you can roll it in and just play it on the dolly. Thanks for sharing!

    Thank you for your indulgence,

  13. Thanks dbase, very nice! I haven't seen anyone use a Music Man amp for a long time. Your Hartke/Ric gear must sound great.

Yes ... you know I never noticed until you mentioned them... he used to be the keyboard player b4 I joined the band... he decided to come back after 9 years as a guitar player... he likes those Byrd's and Eagles tunes... I like the 12 string. This was his first performance with us using guitar and he sings.

it was kind of a joke. Personally, I like them, but around here, acoustic guitar players make fun of them. In a previous band, one guitar player had one and the other played a Taylor. He would constantly tell him he needed to replace his plastic guitar with a real guitar.

  19. Thanks gbase. Great update. I truly enjoy these.
